The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Inaugurates the Construction of a Disability Workshop

PT Metropolitan Land Tbk (Metland) through Yayasan Metropolitan Peduli (YMP) facilitates persons with disabilities with the Ability Hub, a mini workshop complex on a 5000 meter land in Metland Cibitung. The groundbreaking event was attended and inaugurated by the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara.

 

Ability Hub is a place for people with disabilities to be able to channel their skills in producing handicrafts and consumption and to market them. All citizens including persons with disabilities have the same rights and position in the community. Therefore, even though persons with disabilities have physical limitations, it should not be a barrier to work.

 

Participants in the Ability Hub program themselves are persons with disabilities who have previously received work skills training from the Central Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. Later, Ability Hub participants will be trained to become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs in the field of production of goods related to the skills they have, such as the manufacturing of artificial limbs, making hotel amenities, craft souvenir bags / goodie bags, making batik, printing stationery and etcetera.
