BSD Muslim Foundation Begins Construction of Al-Azhar BSD School in Cibitung

The Muslim Bumi Serpong Damai Foundation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Al-Azhar BSD@Cibitung School in the Metland Cibitung area. The construction of this school is fully supported by PT Metropolitan Land Tbk as part of its commitment to providing quality educational facilities in the Metland Cibitung residential area.

The groundbreaking ceremony was marked by the ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the board of the Muslim Bumi Serpong Damai Foundation, witnessed by the management of PT Metropolitan Land Tbk, community leaders, and prospective parents of students. This event also marks the start of the first phase of registration for new students for the 2026/2027 academic year, particularly for elementary school (SD) and junior high school (SMP) levels.

Al-Azhar BSD@Cibitung School will be built on a two-hectare plot of land, encompassing SD, SMP, and SMA levels, adopting the Smart Islamic School concept—an educational model that integrates Islamic values, digital technology, and character development for students. The first phase of construction is targeted to be completed by May 2026, enabling the school to begin operations and be ready to conduct educational activities for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The potential student population comes not only from the Metland Cibitung area but also from surrounding areas. Metland Cibitung, which is a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area, can be reached by the KRL commuter line, which is integrated within the area.

Building on the successful experience of establishing the prestigious Al-Azhar BSD@Cileungsi educational institution in the Metland Cileungsi area, which has grown significantly and received positive feedback from the community, Metland is confident that the Al-Azhar BSD@Cibitung School will garner the same enthusiasm as a modern Islamic education center in the eastern part of Jakarta.
